Marketing Managers have the painstaking task of testing the waters and
discovering what types of advertising work for their company, and which ones
completely fail. This can be a very stressful and overbearing task with so many
options and methods available for advertisement. Companies of all types strive
to market their products via television. Every company dreams of seeing their
products or services advertised in front of large audiences on a commercial
during a primetime show.
However, television advertisement isn’t what it
used to be. In this technologically advanced age, people all over the world have
found ways to avoid watching commercials during their programs. Four out of five
people polled in 2008 revealed that they no longer watch television shows when
they regularly air (except for special occasions) but prefer to record their
shows so that they can fast forward through commercials. These figures are
startling to consider when so many companies have invested millions upon
millions of dollars in television advertising.
The problem is that
consumers have gotten sick and tired of feeling overwhelmed with adverts. In
fact, many parents no longer allow their children to watch television. Not
because of violence in television shows, but because they are fed up with their
children being bombarded with advertisements that make them think they need or
have to have a specific toy or product.
This is why marketing managers
and individuals in charge of advertising for a company of any size, have to
think of less intrusive and “annoying” methods of advertisement that can still
reach large audiences.
Forgo Television Advertisement for Aerial
Marketing
Aerial advertisement is one of the most neglected forms of
advertising available to marketing managers. However, aerial advertising has
been statistically proven to be more effective than radio and print advertising
combined! The problem is that many marketing managers have become so consumed
with the idea of making a popular commercial that they fail to look outside the
box at more cost effective methods of advertising that have the potential to
reach mass markets and viewers.
With aerial advertisements a company can
create a blurb or simply advertise their website or a special promotion or event
via a simple text banner blown behind a plane or via a billboard style banner
presented in the same manner.
These types of advertisements really catch
the eyes and attention of everyone who looks upon them. It should also be noted
that 95% of people who hear a plane, will actually look up to the sky.
Additionally 85% of people who see an aerial banner will recall the specifics of
the banner up to a week after they viewed it. You would be hard put to get this
kind of response from television or radio ads.
Become more intimate with
your customers with the use of aerial banners. Have them flown over specific
target areas, over major sporting events, above outdoor concerts, or amusement
parks. The locations are endless and the potential to reach thousands at a more
personal and memorable manner is yours for the taking.
